The first time I told my spiritual father about our plans to get our church property, his response not only encouraged me but also passed a message to me; “Go and get it. It’s part of your inheritance in this calling.” I got to understand how the spirit of faith works.

Friend, you need to understand how the spirit of faith works (2 Corinthians 4:13). Beyond just a doctrinal concept or a tool for getting results in the kingdom, faith is a spirit. Until you understand and maximize the spirit of faith, you can hardly get any serious things done in life. The spirit of faith is impartable. It is not just taught. It is caught (2 Kings 2:10).

Some things cannot be fully taught. They have to be caught (Acts 4:13). Catching the spirit of faith begins with understanding how the spirit of faith works in the life of your leader. Like Peter walking on water, it has to be the same spirit of faith if you want to take the same step of faith and achieve the same result of faith (Matthew 14:28-30).

Elisha simply did what he saw Elijah do at Jordan, and he got the same result (2 Kings 2:12-15). What have you seen your leader, pastor, or spiritual father do? Are you catching his spirit or just catching a cruise around him? You are not in church to spectate. You are in church to participate (Philippians 4:9). You are not a fan. You are a follower. The mindsets are different.

Until you have the same mindset as your leader, your followership is still in doubt (2 Corinthians 12:18). As a Christian, you are supposed to have the mind of Christ, or else, you are not a correct disciple (1 Corinthians 2:16, Philippians 2:5). As you constantly sit and fellowship with your leader, catch his spirit.

When you see someone who keeps having personal defeat in the midst of corporate victory, he or she is probably not walking in the same spirit of faith (1 John 5:4). The plan of God is that the victory of the person and place you are connected to should be credited to your account if you are a correct follower (Romans 8:37). You need to catch the spirit of faith.
