A man of God came to another man of God and asked a troubling question; “Sir, I thank God for what God is doing in your life and ministry. But, please, can you tell me the secret? Is it the same Bible we are both reading?” The man of God did not say much. He simply told him it is God’s blessing. Apparently, he found it difficult to grasp the secret of the blessed man.

Friend, the blessing is stronger and better than riches (Proverbs 10:22). While the blessing produces riches, riches cannot produce the blessing. You can be rich and not be blessed, but you cannot be blessed and not be rich. This is why you need to pursue the blessing above riches. Little wonder Esau cried for the blessing (Genesis 27:38).

Instead of asking God to make you a rich man, ask Him to make you a blessed man (Genesis 32:26, 1 Chronicles 4:9-10). Better still, if you are born-again, ask God to open your eyes to see the blessing you have in Christ and to live in consciousness of it. Ask Him to help you unlock the blessing that you already have in Christ (Ephesians 1:17-18).

The child of God is already blessed in Christ. But not many are walking in the reality of the blessing (2 Peter 1:3). Not many people know how to position themselves for the blessing to manifest in their lives. It is one thing to be blessed. It is another thing to enjoy it practically on earth. Lazarus was a blessed man. But he lived in poverty (Luke 16:19-21).

Wise people value the intangible. Foolish people go for the tangible (Genesis 25:30-34). The blessing is an intangible reality. This is why many people miss it. It is in your understanding of redemption. It is in honouring the word of God as revealed in scriptures or as spoken to you by your man of God. You need to value prophetic words above handouts (Genesis 25:5-6).

Blessings are conveyed via words and also activated via the same (Genesis 1:28). This is why you must not joke with words. Words set boundaries for our lives. Words remove obstacles or erect barriers. Words are garments that define and determine our experiences in life (Genesis 49:1-4, 22-26). Blessed people don’t hustle or struggle. The blessing makes their two plus two to be greater than four.
