A woman came to a man of God for counselling. After the counselling, she offered to pay her tithe. The man of God declined and asked; “Who’s your pastor, and where’s your church?” Her response surprised the man of God; “You know, we have been told that we are sheep, so we graze around.” The man of God wisely replied to her; “That’s why you’d eat poison one day if you don’t change.”
Friend, you need to take care of your feed (1 Kings 19:5-8). When you don’t prioritise your feeding, you don’t prioritize your health. When you don’t prioritize your health, you don’t prioritise your life. You are what you eat (Mark 4:24). Your living cannot be better than your feeding. We don’t live to eat. We eat to live.
Life grows, and growth is determined by feed. The spiritual life needs to be fed for it to grow (1 Peter 2:2). The food of the spirit is the word of God. It is the word of God that can feed the life of God that is inside of you. Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God (Luke 4:4).
In a generation of fast food and fast everything, you cannot afford to treat your spiritual health like that (Isaiah 28:16). Destiny is not noodles. It needs time to be cooked. You need to spend time with God and His word. It has to be a priority. You will always have time for what you consider important. You cannot be too busy to eat (Mark 6:31).
The quality of your feed is what determines the quality of your destiny or future (Isaiah 7:14-15). This is why God often chooses the feeding of people who would matter in His program and agenda. Samson, Daniel, Jesus, etc. were all divinely guided in the choice of their feeding. You cannot be taking in everything you see around and hope to be healthy (Hebrews 13:9).
As a Christian, you must have a time and a place where you meet God for feeding and nourishing. Like Mary, if you don’t learn to sit at Jesus’ feet, you will not matter in your generation (Matthew 6:11, Luke 10:39). We must also recognise the wisdom of God in giving us pastors who feed us with knowledge and understanding (Jeremiah 3:15). The church of God is not a fun centre. It is a feeding centre.
