I was in a meeting recently where a pastor was speaking on the power of the curse. When I saw the energy with which he emphasised the curse, I was moved to ask him; “Sir, what about the blessing? Is the blessing not powerful?” He became silent. I believe that if Christians emphasise the blessing more than they emphasise the curse, their lives would be a lot better.

Friend, the blessing is more powerful than the curse (Genesis 12:1-3). While there is the reality of the curse, we need to constantly remind ourselves as Christians that the blessing is more real. The blessing is more powerful than the curse. The blessing has the power to stop the curse if only we know how to appropriate it (Galatians 3:13-14).

Why do we often emphasise generational curses and not generational blessings? It may be true that generational curses exist in your lineage, but I need to ask which lineage you are talking about. Is it your biological lineage or spiritual lineage (2 Corinthians 5:16-17)? Is it who you are in the world or who you are in Christ?

The truth is, what you emphasise will be what you are conscious of. What you are conscious of is what manifests in your life (Psalms 91:2). If you keep talking about curses, your consciousness will be that of curses. But if you think, talk, and stay conscious of the blessing, it becomes your reality. The blessing is more powerful than the curse (Isaiah 51:1-3).

Don’t stay under a ministry that always emphasises the curse (2 Corinthians 3:7-18). Connect to one that shows you the blessing and helps you to connect to it. The new creation in Christ is never under a curse. Even when your life and situations look like a curse, don’t accept that as your reality. Rather, know what Christ has done for you and boldly enforce it on your life and circumstances (Isaiah 54:17).

No matter the damage that the curse has done in your life, the blessing has the power to reverse it (Deuteronomy 33:1, 6). The blessing will do more in your life than the curse has done. As Christians, we are to use the power of the blessing to overcome the curse. We are to use what Christ has done on our behalf at redemption to overcome what Satan did in our past (Colossians 2:14-15). Enforce the blessing today!
