I heard a profound story from a dear man of God. According to him, when he was about starting out in ministry, God told him in prayers to go to another man of God for laying on of hands for the spirit of wisdom. That impartation made a huge difference in his ministry journey. I learnt from the story the need for impartation.

Friend, you need impartation. There are three things that would make a difference in your journey of destiny; information, association, and impartation (1 Samuel 10:1-7). The absence of all or any of these will make your journey to be slow and frustrating. You need to go for impartation.

You need to realise that it is not everything you need in life that you will get from God directly (Deuteronomy 34:9). No matter how much you pray or study, some things have been placed in men for you (Exodus 18:19). God is the ultimate blesser, but He blesses men through men. This is why the spirit of independence is the spirit of limitation. You need men as much as you need God.

Impartation will release upon your life the spirit and grace that you need for your journey (Romans 1:11). You must never enter into your future in God with incomplete information or impartation. While information fills your head with requisite knowledge for your ultimate manifestation, impartation empowers you with grace. Information without impartation will lead to frustration (Ecclesiastes 10:10).

Life is not only about what you know. It is also about what you have. It is what you carry that will carry you to and at critical junctures of life and destiny (Acts 3:6). This is why God will position people that matter to your journey at the critical junctures of your life. What you do with them matters. Elisha maximised his relationship with Eijah, and it made a difference in his life and journey (2 Kings 3:11-12).

Impartation goes beyond just laying on of hands. While laying of hands can be a channel of impartation, the real impartation is in heart connection (1 Samuel 16:7). If you are close to someone by geography but far by heart, you won’t receive anything. It is your heart that will determine what you receive. The heart of the matter is a matter of the heart (Proverbs 4:23). You need impartation. Don’t forget this.
