I watched as my boy, Daniel, practised how to stand and walk. He would attempt standing on the bed, standing, falling, and rising again. He would take small steps, staggering, and maintaining balance. He did this for days on his own. When he finally started walking, I knew his practices paid off. Truly, practice makes permanent.

Friend, practice does not just make perfect; it makes permanent (1 Timothy 4:15). Really, nothing happens overnight. Big shots are simply small shots that keep shooting until they become big. Masters are those who have given themselves to daily routines and practices in the area of their calling and enterprise.

It has been said that it takes about 10,000 hours of deliberate and unbroken devotion to master any skill. But how many people can consistently invest 10,000 hours into their enterprise without bulging or losing focus? An average person practises many different things in 10,000 hours, so they master nothing (1 Kings 20:40). It takes focus and consistency to maintain daily routines that would make you a champion.

What some people are looking for is perfection, not progress. You should celebrate progress, not perfection (Philippians 3:12-14). When my son practised walking, even when he falls he would smile. Why did he smile? Because he has made progress. He was not discouraged by his imperfection. Rather, he was encouraged by his progress. What about you?

Are you discouraged by your imperfection or encouraged by your progress? What you focus on matters. Progress or perfection? When you make daily progress in the direction of your dream and destiny, it is only a matter of time; you would be a master (2 Timothy 2:15). You would become someone in your field that everyone admires.

What practices are you going to give yourself to daily that would make a difference in your life and calling (Proverbs 8:34)? Are you a jack of all trade and master of none? What do you desire in your life, business, career, or ministry? What are you willing to do daily to achieve it? Remember, success does not happen in a day. It happens daily.
