One of my daily vocabularies is this; “I’m blessed, and I know it!” This vocabulary is so strong that my younger daughter has learnt to say it too. It has become a family vocabulary as my wife and children chorus it with me. Truly, we are blessed, and we know it! What about you?
Friend, learn to put God’s word in your mouth. The instruction that was given to Joshua (and by extension all of us) is that; “this book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth…” (Joshua 1:8). It is not enough to know or believe God’s word, it is important that we declare it. Faith is received via hearing but it is released via speaking.
The word of God in your mouth is what sets the course for your life (Hebrews 11:3). It is by your words that you are justified or condemned (Matthew 12:37). You believe with your heart unto righteousness but you confess with your mouth unto salvation (Romans 10:10). Faith is seen, not in what we think, but in what we speak (2 Corinthians 4:13).
The word of God must become your vocabulary even at the time of crisis. The true reflection of your heart and faith is what you speak at the time of emergency; it is what you speak in reflex that shows what you really believe. For the word of God to become your default response in life, it must be your daily practise; it must be your daily vocabulary.
What do you call yourself? Perhaps, the reason God changed the name of Abram to Abraham and Sarai to Sarah is to change their vocabulary (Genesis 17:5,15-16). So when Sarah calls “Abraham”, she was simply speaking forth his destiny; she was literally saying; “father of nations!”. As Abraham kept calling Sarah, he was calling forth her destiny as “mother of nations!” They both began to manifest what they were being called.
Get rid of complaints and murmuring, they don’t change anything. Stop speaking the way you are feeling, start speaking God’s word and promises, and they would soon become your reality (Psalms 2:7-8, 91:2, 2 Corinthians 5:7). Declare that you are blessed! You are married! You are fruitful! You are strong! You are favoured! You are prosperous! God speaks, “….so that we may boldly say…” (Hebrews 13:5-6).
