A father bought a house for his son as a child. But he said nothing. Years later, after his wedding, he handed him the keys. Stunned, the son asked, “Dad, why hide this from me?” The father smiled: “Son, I didn’t hide it from you. I hid it for you.” That statement passed a major lesson.
Friend, God does not hide things from you. He hides them for you (Deuteronomy 29:29). What people call mystery is an open secret to those who walk with God. By redemption, Christ has given you access to kingdom secrets (Matthew 13:11). Some things are hidden to the crowd but revealed to sons.
One reason God conceals things is to confuse the devil (1 Corinthians 2:7-9). The enemy only knows what you announce carelessly or what he steals during prophecy (Mark 4:15). God hides parts of your destiny so that the devil cannot intercept it. Silence is a strategy in the spirit.
God also hides things to let you mature (Galatians 4:1-2). If you saw your full future today, it would overwhelm you. It would look too big, and fear would freeze you (Jeremiah 1:6). So God shows you in bits. Milk before meat. Steps before the mountain.
To know everything now is to play God over your life (Jeremiah 10:23). You would start forcing results and run ahead of God’s timing (Acts 7:23-29). That’s how destinies get damaged. God withholds to protect you from your own hurry and your own hands.
“It is the glory of God to conceal a matter. It is the honour of kings to search it out” (Proverbs 25:2). God hides so we can seek Him. We pray, we enquire, we follow step by step (Psalm 37:23). The search creates intimacy. Intimacy is what brings accuracy, speed, and power.
