Sometime ago, I was informed that our Destiny Capsules Daily Devotional was posted in a group without crediting the source or even adding “copied.” I simply replied, “I’ve seen that happen in other groups too. What matters is that the Word spreads and Jesus is glorified.” I have learnt to always give God the glory.

Friend, learn to always give God the glory. Whether you will give Him the glory or take it for yourself is a question you must answer honestly if you want to go far with God and fulfil purpose. God is a jealous God. He can share many things with you, but never His glory (Exodus 34:14).

Think about the donkey Jesus rode into Jerusalem on (Matthew 21:1-11). It would be foolish for that donkey to think the songs, the palm branches, and the garments laid down were for it. No. They were for Jesus, the One on its back. The donkey was only privileged to be in the event — it must not try to steal the spotlight. Don’t take the glory.

Don’t steal the show. Value the privilege of being part of what God is doing in your generation (1 Corinthians 3:5). Can you honestly serve God if your name won’t be attached to it? Until you are comfortable being anonymous, you won’t go far in purpose and destiny (2 Corinthians 12:1-5).

Most things that will count for God in eternity will be nameless and faceless (Revelation 2:19). Some people will win souls without anyone knowing. They will sow seeds quietly. They will write, serve, and bless lives in hidden places. They will labour silently, but sincerely (Luke 17:10).

When your name is mentioned in what God is doing, remember that people should see Jesus in you, not just you (Colossians 1:27). Like Paul said, can you be fine with being called a mere servant? Give God the glory, and you won’t miss your reward (Matthew 6:1-6). Amen!
