A church member woke up from a nightmare. He was being pursued. As he ran for dear life, he woke up scared. He called his pastor, who told him to go back to sleep as he shared the dream. Interestingly, he dreamt he overcame the pursuer and had the victory.
Friend, you need to go back to sleep (Psalm 4:8, 121:4). If you have had any negative outcome in life, remind yourself that it is not the end of the story. Most believers give up too soon, accepting defeat when God has planned victory for them at the end. Most of what we call “the end” is only a bend (Micah 7:8).
It is what you allow that Heaven will allow for you (Matthew 16:19). This is why you must be well-schooled in scriptures, especially your redemption rights – so you won’t fall for satanic gimmicks and pranks. You need to live in the consciousness of victory, not defeat (Romans 8:37).
In relating with God, you need patience. In relating with people, you need long-suffering. But when it comes to the devil, you need endurance (2 Samuel 3:1). Endurance is not about accepting what the devil is doing in your life; it is rising up to give a fight without budging (1 Timothy 6:12).
What negative outcome in your life do you need to reject today (Isaiah 54:17)? What “nightmare” do you need to overcome by faith? If your dream does not look like what God says in His word, you need to go back to sleep. Reject that satanic offer. Believe God’s word more than your dream (Isaiah 8:20).
The greatest miracle God ever performed for man happened when He was put to sleep (Genesis 2:21-23). You also need to sleep so that God can work on your behalf. You need to rest in God and Christ’s finished work. Don’t be terrified by the enemy. God gives His beloved while they sleep (Psalm 127:2, Philippians 1:28). Go back to sleep.
