A senior minister in our country felt moved to pray for one of his associates who had been very active in the ministry. After laying hands on him, God told him to withdraw the prayer. It felt awkward, but he obeyed all the same. He later found out that the associate pastor had been involved in some shady things.
Friend, you cannot deceive God (Genesis 8:22). He is the one who supervises the law of seed time and harvest, ensuring that people’s harvests are always commensurate with their seeds. You cannot be cheated, and you cannot cheat God or circumvent the system that He has put in place (Galatians 6:7-9).
When God measures a man, He does not put the ruler around his neck. He puts it around his heart (1 Samuel 16:7). Our heart is a big deal before God. The heart of the matter is always a matter of the heart. If you must go far in life, hand over your heart to God and let Him work on it (Proverbs 23:26).
Sooner or later, what you call a secret will be made known in public (Matthew 6:4). With God, bad behaviour with a good heart is better than good behaviour with a bad heart. That’s the difference between David and Saul. David did worse than Saul, but he had a good heart (Acts 13:22).
Pastors and senior leaders must train themselves not to fall for looks and carriage (1 Samuel 16:6). Let God reveal who people are to you. *Don’t commit to someone who is the cousin of the devil because of what you see. People often mask their true intention (2 Corinthians 11:13-15).
You need to train yourself to always live rightly, orderly, and excellently, no matter who is there or not (Genesis 39:9). When you realise that God is always there beholding your life and actions, you would stop living in pretence. You cannot deceive God, the devil, and yourself (1 John 1:8-9). Learn to pass with God.
