As a family, we usually wake up early in the morning for devotion. One day, as we gathered for devotion, my little boy, just over a year old then, went straight to the shelf, picked up a copy of our devotional book, and started opening it. It caught my wife’s and my attention, and we just smiled. The faith is being passed on.

Friend, you need to pass it on. What you pass to your children and generations to come matter. It has to be consciously. Our faith is designed to outlive us (2 Timothy 1:5). It is not just about you. It is about those coming after you. It is about legacy.

Timothy’s family was an example of transgenerational faith. It passed from his grandmother to his mother and to him. No wonder it was easier for Timothy to know God and develop into what God had ordained for him (2 Timothy 3:15). Are you making Christianity easy or difficult for your children and those coming after you?

Like Levi, what you do today will greatly impact the destiny of your unborn children (Hebrews 7:9-10). Stop endangering the lives of your children by living in sin or playing truant in spiritual matters. When you are conscious of the nations and generations in your loins, you will be careful how you live (Genesis 25:23).

The greatest contribution you can make in the lives of your children is to serve God while you are alive (Joshua 24:15). It will create an indelible impression on them. This is why God is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Genesis 32:9, Exodus 3:6).

Be a good model. People do what people see (Genesis 31:42, 53). When they see you kneel to pray, study your Bible, treat people well, commit to a local church, etc., it impacts them greatly. Singles, you can already tell the future of your unborn children by who you choose to marry (Psalms 112:1-3). Be guided.
