Sometime ago, I told my daughter to arrange her wardrobe before I returned from a ministry engagement. She asked, “Daddy, when are you likely to come back?” I stressed, “Don’t ask when I’m coming back; just do what I told you to do.” This conversation reminded me to occupy till Jesus comes.
Friend, you need to occupy till Jesus comes. Rather than asking when Christ is likely to return, why not focus on the reason He left you here on earth? There is no better way to prepare for Christ’s imminent return than to be busy with divine assignment. We need to occupy till He comes (Luke 19:13).
Until you are engaged with divine assignment, you will be a victim of satanic entanglements. The devil is looking for someone to use, just as God is also looking for someone to use (2 Chronicles 16:9). It was when David refused to be engaged that the devil entagled him (2 Samuel 11:1-5)?
Like David, if you don’t keep your focus on divine assignment, you would be trapped by Bathsheba (Job 31:1). Divine assignment is what delivers from satanic appointment. Jesus knew that He was engaged with divine assignment, so no Herod or devil could kill Him (Luke 13:31-33).
Your consciousness of divine assignment will deliver you from the fear of death (2 Timothy 4:6-8, 2 Peter 1:13-15). You don’t have time to play around. Like the rebellious Israelites, we must not make an idol of food and legitimate activities that they distract us from our assignments (1 Corinthians 10:7).
When you stay in your place, you will be in shape. But if you are not in place, you are in space, and nothing grows in space (Proverbs 27:8). When you find your place, stay there. Give yourself to the duties and demands of that place (1 Timothy 4:15, 2 Peter 1:10). You need to occupy till He comes.
