The other day, I attempted to open the entrance door to our apartment. But I noticed the door wasn’t opening. I kept trying, only to discover that I was using the car key to open our apartment door. I laughed at myself, but I learned a lesson: always use the right key.

Friend, always use the right key. The kingdom of God is a kingdom of keys (Matthew 16:19, Revelation 3:7). Many struggles today require the right keys. You can’t enjoy ease beyond the keys available to you. I love breakthroughs, but I prefer open doors.

There’s the key to the kingdom, and there are the keys of the kingdom. The key to the kingdom is salvation, but the keys of the kingdom are numerous (Matthew 16:19, Luke 11:52, John 3:3-5). Having access to a mansion doesn’t mean you’ll access the gym, kitchen, master bedroom, etc. You’ll need the right keys.

“What must I do to be saved?” is more potent than “Lord, save me” (Acts 16:13). Many ask God to bless, heal, or prosper them rather than asking what they need to do to be blessed (Ecclesiastes 10:15). Until God shows you the keys to your next level, struggles continue.

Prayer is one key; a major one (Matthew 7:7-8). But prayer isn’t the only key. You can pray and still fail. Any prayer that doesn’t give you the key to engage life is frustrating. We pray for keys, not just emotions (Daniel 9:20-22).

Using the right keys brings responsible Christian living. Humanity must partner with divinity for miracles to happen (John 2:5). God would supply the key, but you must learn to use it. The same God who fights your battles also teaches you to fight (Psalms 144:1). Selah!
