My wife shared a funny story about our daughter. At age 3, she’d jokingly deny her as her mom, claiming she had one in another city! My wife taught her a lesson by not serving her food, saying, “Go ask your other mom.” She cried and admitted, “You’re my mom.” It taught me to accept God’s choice for me.

Friend, you need to accept God’s choice for you (Hebrews 10:7). God deliberately allowed us the power of choice so that we can follow Him willingly and wholeheartedly. However, there are some choices that God has already made for us. We only need to accept such choices (Philippians 2:12-13).

Not accepting divine choice for your life would only bring frustration and prolong your journey (Acts 9:1-6). It is hard to go against divine plan and ordination. We must learn to decipher between divine permission and divine will. The fact that God permitted you to do something does not mean it is His perfect will for you (Romans 12:2).

Like my daughter’s playful gesture, many people have not accepted God’s choice for them (Acts 10:14). They still feel they could have something or someone better than God has chosen for them. They think they could have had better parents or they could have been born in a different family or nation (Psalm 139:13-18).

God is intentional about our lives (Ephesians 1:11). He never makes mistakes. He knows our tomorrow more than we know our yesterday. It is both humility and wisdom to accept God’s choice and submit to His will. Until you accept the choice of God for you, you won’t enjoy His best for you (Isaiah 1:19).

Dear Pastor, accept the city and people God has sent you to (Jonah 1:1-3). Church Member, accept the pastor and church that God has brought you to. All of us should accept God’s unique calling and assignment for us. This is when the power and provisions of God would flow in our lives. Until you accept God’s choice, your life won’t work (Job 36:11).
