A ravaging disease broke out in a city some years ago; people were dying cheaply. All over town, it was common to hear statements like: “We don’t know who is next.” While in prayers, the Lord told His servant; “Tell my people, you may not know who is next, but you know who is not next. You are not next.” That statement kept God’s people from the destroyer.

Friend, evil is real in the world. Sicknesses and diseases would continue to ravage the world. Deaths and destructions are inevitable as we close in on the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 24:6-8). But God has an exemption plan for His people as the world continues to face gross darkness (Isaiah 60:1-2). You need to know this exemption plan so that you can stay safe and strong this season.

“Concerning the works of men, by the word of your lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer” (Psalms 17:4). There is the path of the destroyer and destruction. One of the covenant blessings of every child of God is the blessing of being kept away from the path of the destroyer. This covenant blessing is in the word of the Lord placed on your lips. Like David, the word of God on our lips is our covenant of safety.

“Say not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear their fear, nor be afraid” (Isaiah 8:12). What you say in this season matters (Mark 11:23). If the devil can get you to speak wrongly he would get you cheaply. At a time like this, it is better to say nothing than to speak wrongly. But it is best to speak what God is saying. The redeemed of the Lord must say so if what the Lord has said would be their reality (Psalms 91:2, 107:2)

One of the instruments of destruction that the devil throws at people is the instrument of fear. But God has not given us the spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7). The fear of death has killed more people than death itself (Hebrews 2:15, 1 John 4:18). If the devil can get you afraid he would get you defeated. This is why God is always saying; “Fear Not”. While faith attracts God, fear attracts the devil (Hebrews 11:6).

This season, don’t say what is happening, say what is written (Job 22:29). In the midst of all that is happening, there is something that God is doing. It is when God is moving that the devil begins to move; you need to focus on the move of God and not the move of the devil. Put the word of God on your lips (Psalms 17:4). Declare that there is a lifting up (Job 22:29). Declare that the glory of God is risen upon you (Isaiah 60:1-2). Declare that you will not die but live to declare the works of God (Psalms 118:17, 1 Peter 2:9). Amen!
