I was in a conversation with my wife recently. After some lengthy time of interaction, I uttered a statement that was quite revealing; “Why don’t people bother asking a married woman who owns the car she drives, herself or the husband?” My wife responded; “Two have become one.” That’s the power of inheritance.
Friend, you have an inheritance. This is what it means to be an heir. You are not just an heir, you are joint-heir with Christ (Romans 8:17). You are a co-owner with Christ. You share the inheritance with Christ and the inheritance of Christ. What Christ has you have. What Christ owns, you own.
You are not trying to get things, you own things. In fact, all things are yours (1 Corinthians 3:21). Stop going through life trying to succeed and struggling to own things. You are an owner (Genesis 14:19-20). You are supposed to be a giver, not a begger (Genesis 14:21-23). You are supposed to move from borrowing to owning.
Enjoying your inheritance begins with revelation. What you don’t know you don’t know. This is why the teaching ministry is an inheritance sharing ministry (Acts 20:32). Any ministry that can help you to discover who you and what you have in Christ has done a huge work in your life (Ephesians 1:17-18).
Whereas, Moses delivered the Israelites from bondage, it would take Joshua to distribute their inheritances to them (Joshua 1:6). Moses work is not complete unless Joshua stepped into the scene. Your inheritance is hidden in the word. It is what you see that you can seize (Jeremiah 1:11-12). It is what you are aware of that you can partake of.
What God has given you is not the same as what you are enjoying. Enjoying your inheritance in Christ would require a fight. You need to fight wrong mindset. You would need to fight the status quo. You need to fight indecision. You would need to fight demonic forces (Deuteronomy 2:24). You don’t want to get to Heaven to realize that you lived lesser than God planned.
