Years ago, a young man came to me for counselling. He had gone through a lot. He was really overwhelmed. As he reeled out his ordeal, he mentioned; “Sir, can you imagine a graduate like me who cannot boast of so and so amount in his pocket.” I told him; “As a husband, father and pastor, I have less than that amount you mentioned both at home and at bank but you won’t know if I don’t tell you.” He became gentle. He was encouraged to know that he was not alone.

Friend, you are not alone. You must refuse the lie of the devil telling you that you are the only one. Sometimes, life’s challenges can be so overwhelming that you think that no one else has ever faced or is ever facing what you are facing (1 Corinthians 10:13). If you lost your parents at an early age in life, Esther has been there (Esther 2:7). If you were wrongly accused and punished for an offence you did not commit, Joseph was there (Genesis 39:7-20).

If nobody ever believes in you, including your own Dad, David was there (1 Samuel 16:11). If you are being persecuted for your faith and stand with God, you have a comrade in Daniel (Daniel 6:10-23). In case, you are edged by myriads of needs here and there, Paul was there, Elijah had his own, even our Lord Jesus was faced with needs. But God sorted all of them out (Philippians 4:19). You are not alone.

Perhaps, the assignment God has given you looks so great that you think God has been unfair to commit only you, remember that there are other 7,000 people whom God is counting on just like you (1 Kings 19:18). It is a delusion to think that you are the only one. God is too wise to depend on you alone. He is too strategic to not have other men (Acts 10:34-35).

You need to live life with a sense of community. You must never walk alone. This is why learning from scriptures helps you to put your life and journey in the right perspective. Connecting with other men helps you to see your assignment in the light of the kingdom (1 Corinthians 1:26-29). People become easy targets of depression and/or pride when they operate as loners (1 Kings 19:1-4, Galatians 2:8).

You have a tag team in destiny. This is why the human hand consist of five fingers; you have at least four people that are to complement you in your journey of destiny (Mark 2:3). This is why we have five-fold ministry offices operating as a tag team (1 Corinthians 12:28, Ephesians 4:11-12). This is why you are only about four people away from whoever you want to meet in life. When you locate your team, your dream will come alive (Daniel 2:49, Mark 3:14). You are not alone.
