A dear servant of God once shared a story with us at a ministers’ conference. According to him; “As I laid hands on a young man to bless him, I felt an uneasiness in my spirit.” Afterwards, the Lord said to me; “Call that young man back and withdraw that prayer.” He later got to know that the young man has some issues that God is dealing with in his life.

Friend, God does not look at your physique to bless you, He looks at your heart. The blessings of God will remain suspended in a man’s life until the right order is put in place (Genesis 1:2). God does not bless disorder. God does not anoint rottenesss. You must position yourself in heart and truth to carry God’s highest blessing.

When God measures a man, He does not put the taperule around his head, He puts it around his heart (1 Samuel 16:7). If your heart is wrong, your life is wrong (Proverbs 4:23). Not too many people are anointable. Like Eliab, you may be the loudest, strongest, and most promising, but God may look away from you (Psalms 138:6). Ordination service is not the same as divine endorsement (1 Samuel 16:1).

When the Bible admonishes us to not lay hands on people suddenly, God is talking about something deeper than ordinary (1 Timothy 5:22). Ministers of God should be careful not to lay hands as a routine of ministry. Laying of hands is a very crucial kingdom process that requires a Holy ghost supervised procedure (Genesis 48:14-20).

What is that thing in your life that can make God withdraw His blessing or approval? What has God been dealing with in your life that has lingered for years (Hosea 4:17)? Why are you proving unbending and unbreakable? If God does not break you, life will break you (Genesis 32:24-26, Isaiah 66:2). When God breaks you, it is to make you. But when life breaks you, it is to destroy you.

Blessings are provoked, not just requested. Rather than jumping from place to place, asking to be blessed, why not live a life that would commit God’s blessings on your life (Hebrews 13:9)? Instead of submitting your head to be anointed, why not submit your heart to be moulded and fashioned after God’s will and counsel (Proverbs 23:26)? Live your life in a way that provokes the blessing (Genesis 22:15-18). You will succeed.
