“And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us” (Romans 5:5).
Hope does not disappoint. This is one crucial understanding you must have as we gradually move to the 2nd half of year 2020. God wants you to keep hope alive. There is no hopeless situation, there are only people who are hopeless about situations. Once the devil can succeed in stealing your hope, he has stolen your future. Don’t forget that God is committed to giving you hope and a future; so your future is tied to your hope (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV).
Friend, God says to tell you today that, “there is hope in your future and there is future in your hope.” Hope does not disappoint. We must let hope come alive again in our hearts this season. I know the year has been tough for the world and the future looks so bleak, but you need to understand that God is still dishing out hope to His people. This hope is what becomes the foundation of our faith as we trust God for a better 2nd half (Hebrews 11:1).
What does it mean to have hope? It is to have a positive expectation of good. It is to believe the best of every situation and to position your heart and life for it. To hope is to believe that God would do unto you better than at your beginning (Ezekiel 36:11). It is to look forward to a flourishing and glorious future irrespective of the failures of the past. Remember that God does not consult your past in order to construct your future. With God, your best days are always out in front of you, and not in your past.
We must be prisoners of hope (Zachariah 9:12). We must be men and women who have concluded that it is either we hope for the best or nothing else. We must live our lives in high expectation of great and mighty things that are in store for us in God (Jeremiah 33:3). We must make up our mind to keep on believing God despite all odds. We must be like Abraham, “Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be” (Romans 4:18).
Listen, there is the power of positive expectation. Expectation, they say, is the mother of manifestation. What do you don’t expect, you may never experience. Remember that, “…surely there is an end; and your expectation shall not be cut off” (Proverbs 23:18). Our end is tied to our expectations. When you expect negative, things may end negative for you, but when you live your life always believing God for the best, your expectations will not be cut short (Proverbs 23:18).
