The story behind one of the finest worship songs that has blessed our world is an interesting one. The songwriter shared the experience he had with his son who was at the verge of death. When the doctors have already given up on the chance of the child’s survival, he saw God come through for them. He experienced God first hand as the way maker.

Friend, God is not just a way maker, He is the way (John 14:6). When you feel that everywhere is tight, the road is blocked, disappointments here and there, you must remember that God’s presence with you is the assurance of victory and progress in the journey of destiny. You need to assure your heart that though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, God is with you (Psalms 23:4).

The challenges of life are only an opportunity for us to prove that God is faithful (Psalms 119:160). You may never understand what it means to have God as the way maker if you have not been stranded before. How would you know that God is Jehovah Jireh if not that you are faced with the need of provisions? Jehovah Rapha is not just a cliché; it is God showing Himself in your life as the Lord that heals (Exodus 15:26, 1 Peter 2:24).

Your challenges can never intimidate God. God is never in an emergency mode. Rather, He supplies peace in turbulence (Mark 4:39). He gives assurance in the face of uncertainty (Acts 20:22-24, 2 Timothy 1:12). He supplies hope when the journey looks bleak (Romans 4:18-21). We radiate His glory in the midst of gloominess as we look to Him (Psalms 34:5).

Every challenge that you are faced with as in it the seed of its own solution (1 Corinthians 10:13). Most times, we look around when God is saying to us to look within. But you cannot look within if you have not looked above. It is when you lift up your eyes to the God who helps that your eyes would be opened to the help that is ever present (Genesis 21:19, Psalms 46:1, 121:1-2).

Our challenges are meant to make us, not break us (2 Corinthians 4:16-18). Some people would not have been business owners if not for the financial challenge that they once had. Some would not have been prayer champions if not for the persistent issue they grappled with for years. After you have been through a challenging season, you must emerge into a better person.
