The complaints I get from some campus fellowship members when they go home on break is that Church at home is “dry”. It’s not like the flow on campus. My response to them is always the same; “Rather than complaining that things are not happening, make things happen.” This counsel is still valid today.

Friend, you have something to offer as a member of a local Church (Romans 12:4-6). The purpose of Church leadership is to provide direction and harness the gifts of her members for kingdom expansion. Instead of complaining about the ineffectiveness of the Church, you may want to check if God has so gifted you to fill in such gaps.

Can you sing? Make that ability available for God in Church. Are you a very organized person with attention to details? You can bring that grace to bear on your local Church. Are you a techy person? Your Church needs it to further the kingdom agenda (Exodus 31:1-3). Are you a relational person? See how you can leverage that for the effectiveness of your Church (John 4:29).

No one is useless or without ability; it is only that we often look in one direction or in the wrong direction. All that you have and all that you are in Christ have been strategically put in by God for the sake of the kingdom (Philemon 1:6). Don’t hide it. Don’t hoard it. Rather, use it so you won’t lose it (Matthew 25:24-25).

You need to move from Church attendance to Church involvement. A lot of pastors are under intense ministry pressures today because of members who refuse to get involved. Don’t forget that the major role or assignment of Church leaders is to equip you and I to do ministry work and not to shoulder it alone (Ephesians 4:11-12).

Real involvement and commitment in the local Church will position you for unusual blessings (Psalms 133:1-3). The blessing of Zion is majorly available for those who are involved in the responsibility of Zion (Psalms 122:6-9). You would partake of the anointing in the house and it would make all the difference in your life and endeavours (Psalms 23:5).
