A young man brought his fiancĂ©e to me for counselling. When I asked him about his plans to care of her and their future family, he replied that he was “trusting God” without having a concrete plan in place. I taught him the importance of planning, highlighting that having a plan is also a part of trusting God.
Friend, miracles favour the planned. Faith is not an enemy of planning (James 2:18). Real biblical faith is seen in planning. You cannot be believing God for abundance and not prepare for the same. You cannot be praying it does not rain, and you still go about with an umbrella. Noah would have looked stupid to people when he started building the ark.
Noah dared to believe God for what had not happened before. He did not only believe God, he swung into action making plans and preparations for what He believed (Hebrews 11:7). What about you? Are you making plans and preparations for what you believe? The reason many miracles are delayed is lack of planning.
When God sees that you are not ready for what you are asking, He withholds it until you are ready (Hebrews 10:35-39). You may think that God is wicked or unfaithful. But it is out of love that He withholds such. If you get what you are asking for now, you might make a mess of destiny. How planned are you? Until you begin to plan, you won’t see possibilities.
You cannot break forth on every side unless you are willing to enlarge the place of your tents and stretch forth the curtains of your habitation (Isaiah 54:1-3). Don’t excuse yourself from planning with the idea that you don’t want to box or limit God. Planning does not limit God in our lives. It is actually a lack of planning that does.
Jesus planned for the miracle of multiplicaton by telling the people to sit down orderly in groups (Luke 9:14-17). Can you be that planned? It may seem crazy but it is the proof of faith. As you trust God to scale your business, put the right plans and structures in place. Pastor, you need both prayer and planning to grow a church (Acts 6:1-7). Plan your life. Miracles favour the planned.
