Sometimes, I keep my daughters in suspense when we are out for an occasion. They would ask; “Daddy, where are we going?” They would keep asking while I keep smiling at them, asking them to just follow. As we approach our destination, they will burst out and say things like, “Oh, I know where we are going. We are even almost there.” Doesn’t that sound like the journey of faith?
Friend, if you are walking with God, you are actually on a journey of faith (2 Corinthians 5:7). The reason most people do not believe God’s vision for their lives is because they want to understand it first. But the truth is, you need to believe it first before you understand it. It is through faith that we understand (Hebrews 11:3).
God is not committed to giving you a vision that you can completely understand but one that you should believe. Mary still did not fully understand what God was saying or doing until Jesus was birthed; she only needed to believe (Luke 1:45). If you are waiting to fully understand what God is saying before you step out in faith, you might miss God’s manifestation in your life (Hebrews 11:8).
You don’t need to understand how a gadget works to use it. You just need to believe what the manufacturer says about it. If you are waiting to understand stuff before you use or maximise them, you would be grounded in life. If you can understand it at first, it is likely not God’s vision for your life (Acts 26:19).
The understanding of God’s vision will necessarily require a progressive faith. You keep believing, you keep understanding, and you keep becoming (Habakkuk 2:1-4, John 1:12). My question to you today is simple; “Do you believe God’s vision for your life, or are you still trying to figure everything out before you step out?”
God is not asking if you can do it. He is simply asking if you believe it. Believing must be specific. God is not asking if you believe just anything or some random theology. He is asking if you believe what He says or shows to you specifically (John 11:23-26). Don’t wait until you can figure everything out.
