Years ago, I was in a conversation with a dear one where we got talking about some basic life lessons. In his remark, he said; “These lessons have made great people, but there are still folks who have learned them but have done nothing with them.” I learnt how to get the result of the wise.
Friend, you need to pursue wisdom this season. There is the wisdom of the wise. There is the way of the wise (Proverbs 4:11). Being wise is not a title. It is a practice. Being foolish or stupid is not an abuse. It is simply a description of a man’s state of mind and actions (Matthew 25:1-4).
You don’t have to be wise to have the result of the wise (Proverbs 13:20). You simply need to do what wise people do. Walking with the wise is not only about hanging around with wise people; it is simply taking steps that wise people take. You can be close to a wise person, yet live in folly at its peak (1 Samuel 25:25).
Paying attention to your practices would help you more than just paying attention to your prayers (Ephesians 3:20). Most people live contrary to their prayer life. You can be praying for prosperity but have the lifestyle of poverty. You can be praying for divine health and live inconsistent with the principles of healthy living (3 John 1:2). Ultimately, you would become your practice, not your prayer or desire.
You don’t rise to the level of your dreams; you fall to the level of your discipline (1 Corinthians 15:10, 1 Timothy 4:15). Dreams are very powerful and important, but discipline does the magic. Without the right discipline, your dream is like a car without an engine. It may look like it, but it is not. Creating practices that move you closer to your destiny is the genius of kingdom dreamers (Luke 12:49-50).
Stop looking for quick fixes. When you see the ants moving stuff in bits, you might think they are wasting time and destiny, but they would end up doing what most people would not do. The ants are a powerful example of discipline and consistency (Proverbs 6:6-11). Ants are actors, not just dreamers. Ants are little, yet they move weights. What weight do you want to move this season? Don’t just say it. Move it!
