I worked with a Telecoms firm for a few years before resigning to full-time ministry. In that firm, because of the sensitivity of some of our devices, there were rooms that were only accessible to the right engineers. The fact that you are a staff of the company does not guarantee you access. There were general access and restricted access.

Friend, in the Kingdom, there are general access and restricted access. For example, there is a level of access to God that is only available for born again people which unbelievers do not have. Believers can call God Father, unbelievers cannot. Believers can claim their right with God, unbelievers can only enjoy what God chooses to give them by mercy (Mark 7:25-28).

“He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel” (Psalms 103:7). Whereas, salvation qualifies all believers for access to God, there are still some restricted accesses that are only granted some selected few. Failure to know this is the reason some people want to force their way into things that require some spiritual protocols (Mark 10:35-40, Hebrews 10:19-20, Revelation 4:1-2).

“And no man takes this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron” (Hebrews 5:4). There is general access based on salvation, there is restricted access based on your calling. God hears all believers, but He pays special attention to some selected few (Genesis 18:17-33, Numbers 12:6-8). This is not discrimination, it only shows that there are levels and protocols.

Whereas, Jesus’ finished work on the cross has granted everyone general access, our individual walk with the Lord will ‘earn’ us the restricted access (Zechariah 3:7). This is why it is either ignorance or arrogance for someone to say that; “We all have equal access with God.” This is not always true. Access is in levels. Know how to differentiate between general and restricted accesses.

Your desire must be to walk with the Lord in such a way that you would have unrestricted access anytime, any day, anywhere! Honour God genuinely (Psalms 138:6, Isaiah 66:2). Take your consecration serious (Zechariah 3:1-7, 1 Thessalonians 4:3). Grow in intimacy (Acts 4:13). Walk the road of your calling faithfully (Hebrews 3:1-2). In all, remember that there is no partiality with God (Acts 10:34-35). Jesus has given us all a level playing ground. But what you do with what Jesus has done matters.
