One of the lessons I learnt from my mum is the application of the blood of Jesus. Anytime she felt any discomfort in her body, she would say something like; “I drink the blood of Jesus.” I can still remember how she’d position her hands as though she was drinking something from her hands. I saw the efficacy of the blood in her life.

Friend, there is power in the blood of Jesus. It is superior to every other blood. Aside the name of Jesus and the word of God, the blood of Jesus is another weapon given us as believers for our victory on the earth (Revelation 12:11). In fact, the blood of Jesus is the factor for our victory. Every other weapon rests on the foundation laid by the blood of Jesus (Hebrews 10:19).

The blood of Jesus was what brought beautiful exchange to our lives. It is on the platform of the blood that we have been redeemed from sin to righteousness, from sickness to health, and from poverty to prosperity (1 Peter 1:18-19). By the blood, we have changed position. By the blood, we have got a new identity. By the blood, we have exemption (Hebrews 11:28).

The blood of Jesus is what activates the new covenant (Hebrews 9:13-17). It was what validated the forgiveness of our sins (Colossians 1:14, Hebrews 9:22). It is what granted us access into the provisions of God. When God sees the blood, He passes over us, and He also causes us to passover; we pass from death to life (Exodus 12:23, 1 John 3:14).

The blood of Jesus speaks (Hebrews 12:24). It speaks mercy in place of vengeance. It speaks protection where danger is looming. It speaks favour. It speaks life in place of death. It speaks better things. We can experience better because of the blood. The blood has put us on a better covenant with better promises (Hebrews 8:6). Be reminded of the efficacy of the blood today.

The blood has been shed but it must be applied. This was the instruction that God gave the Israelites in those days. They must apply the blood on their door posts (Exodus 12:7, 23). The priest must also sprinkle all the vessels of ministry with the blood (Hebrews 9:19-21). Learn to apply the blood by speaking. Go about your daily life testifying of what the blood has accomplished for you and walk in victory (Revelation 12:11). Amen.
