I have been a voracious reader since my early teen years. I remember reading a foreign book on dating, courtship and marriage. The author did justice to the subject of dating. Armed with my newfound knowledge, I went after this girl I considered okay for me; we were both in college together. Fortunately, I didn’t get to see her after about three attempts.

Then I had a dream overnight; I saw myself about getting married to this lady. Shortly before the priest joined us, I looked back and saw that I had left a parcel behind; on the parcel was written DESTINY. I woke up with this strong warning from the Lord; “If you go after that lady, your destiny is gone.” I came to my senses; God had saved me from destiny wreckage.

Friend, your destiny is an attraction both to heaven and to hell. As God is doing everything possible to preserve you and your destiny, the devil is also out there trying to cause a wreckage. God must save you. You must heed the warning signals. You must be well guided. The devil is not joking. He is not just the tempter; he is also the attempter. He keeps attempting and attempting until he gets people (Luke 4:13). You must not lose your guard.

There are no casual moments in life and destiny, there are only people who are causal about life. Every day or moment is strategic and must be lived intentionally (Ephesians 5:15-17). If Dinah had known that going out to meet the daughters of the land would cause her a place in the program of God, she would have restrained herself (Genesis 34:1-31, 49:28).

Like me, some people are goodhearted, only that they are victims of wrong counsels and information (1 Corinthians 15:33). What are you reading? Who are you listening to (Psalms 1:1-3)? Who do you share your sexual urges with? Who is your counselor (Proverbs 31:1-6)? If you have a Jonadab as a counselor, you would end up a rapist and die like Amnon (2 Samuel 13:1-33). Whoever does not understand your destiny should not counsel you, else they end up cancelling your destiny.

In a world that is full of compromises, you need to take a stand with and for God (Daniel 1:8). It is better to walk alone than to travel with the wrong people; one with God is a majority (Exodus 23:2). Others may but you cannot. You are different. Your destiny is unique. Don’t sell your birthright because of mere porridge or Shawama (Genesis 25:31-34). Your destiny is expensive, make it impossible for the devil to buy it. Jesus has already paid the ultimate price for you (1 Corinthians 6:20).
