A young woman won a multi-million Naira grant. To avoid shocking her with the news, her pastor was asked to break it to her gently. The pastor subtly asked her what she’d do with such a large sum, and she replied that she’d give it to him to support the ministry. The pastor was so surprised that he fainted.
Friend, your heart must be enlarged so you can accommodate God’s blessings (1 Kings 4:29). Heart enlargement is the secret of life enlargement. Whatever your heart cannot accommodate, your life may never experience (Proverbs 23:7). You need to allow God to enlarge your heart. Avoid people and environments that shrink your heart.
The size of your heart is what determines the size of your harvests (Matthew 6:21). How to know the size of your heart is by watching your reaction when something huge is being talked about. You may not have huge funds yet, but your heart must not shake when it is mentioned (John 6:5-7). You must let your heart travel to where your life is headed.
There are a number of ways through which God enlarges our hearts. One of it is encounters in prayers (Genesis 17:1-6). Apart from meeting our needs, prayers have been designed by God for heart enlargement. You cannot fellowship with the Lion of the tribe of Judah and have the heart of a chicken. When God speaks, it is not first to change our situations. It is to change our hearts (2 Corinthians 3:18).
God enlarges our hearts by exposing us to the right people and environments (Proverbs 27:17). Who you relate with will ultimately determine the size of your heart. Get out of your comfort zone. Meet people you have not met before. Get into environments that are bigger than your current level. Sometimes, you might think your farm is the biggest until you get to another man’s farm (1 Kings 10:1-10).
Giving is another biblical channel of heart enlargement. You cannot be a giver and have a small heart (2 Corinthians 9:6-10). Whatever you cannot give, you have not yet conquered. Rather than praying and working to have a million Naira, plan to give a million Naira. Those who desire to give a million have put themselves above millions (1 Kings 3:4-13). Give your way into heart enlargement today. Amen.
