While waiting on God for admission into the University in those days, the pressures and temptations were much. God had assured me of His promises again and again, but it was not looking like it. I did all I knew to do; prayed hard, studied hard etc., all to no avail. But when God was to come through for me, everything aligned; His timing was perfect!

Friend, “God is not a man that He should lie, neither is He a son of man that He should repent. Has He said it, will He not do it? Has He spoken it, will He not make it good?” (Numbers 23:19). Man speaks and then tries to bring it to pass. But when God speaks, He has concluded it before He ever spoke it. God is not going to do what He has said, He actually says what He has done.

God cannot lie (Titus 1:2, Hebrews 6:18). What He promised you will come to pass. The fact that it appears delayed does not mean it is denied. Actually, there is nothing like delay for a man that is genuinely following God. Most of what we call delays are actually happening at God’s own time; and His timing is not always our timing (Isaiah 55:8-9, John 7:6).

“God is not slow…” (2 Peter 3:9). When your life and destiny seem slow, remember that God is not. We must measure our lives in connection with what God is working. When you look at Elizabeth for instance, you would have thought that she was barren until you consider the fact that her timing must coincide with the timing of Mary; John the Baptist had to be 6 months older than Jesus to act as Jesus’ forerunner (Luke 1:36).

You need the attitudes of patience and surrender if you would manifest God’s promises (Hebrews 6:12, 10:36). The devil is a master at causing people to act hastily ahead of God. He wants you to use your own hands to spoil your own miracle. Abraham went ahead of God and Ishmael was birthed; this became a thorn in Abraham’s flesh till date (Genesis 16:3-5, Galatians 4:22-23, 29). It also caused a 13years silence from Heaven concerning Abraham’s destiny (Genesis 16:16, 17:1). This is one of the problems of impatience.

As you go into today, I want you to rest assured that God’s word concerning you will still come to pass. God cannot lie. Has He promised you a spouse, job, business breakthrough, children, healing etc.? His word is sure. You need to stay in faith as you align yourself with the timing of God. Don’t fall for the alternative of the devil, or prolong your destiny by going ahead of God. Let Him do what He has said. You will testify! Amen!
