I grew up with a mentality that has shaped my perspective about life. For example, I cannot remember when last I said I don’t have money or that I’m sick. I cannot remember when last I accepted any unpleasant circumstance as my reality. When I speak like this, some people think I’m not being sincere. But I am. I am not speaking from fact but from truth.

Friend, there is a difference between fact and truth. We would always grapple with facts on this side of eternity, but we must be guided by the truth! The Truth is what God has said irrespective of what is happening around us. The truth is what God is showing us irrespective of what life or the devil wants us to see. The Fact may be that you have achieved next to nothing in this year 2021, but the Truth is that the year will still end for you on a glorious note; it’s a function of your perspective.

The fact may be that you have nothing in your pocket or bank account at the moment, but the truth is that you are blessed; you are wealthy, you are rich, you are supplied! This is where Faith comes in; we don’t live by fact but by Faith (2 Corinthians 5:7). While we don’t deny the fact, we must learn to superimpose the truth of God’s word on the facts of life via our Faith in the living God (2 Corinthians 4:16-18).

One of the most important prayers you can pray at this time and season is the prayer of revelation (2 Kings 6:15-17, Ephesians 1:15-18). You need to pray that God would open your eyes to see. Yes, you need to see. Many eyes look, but only a few eyes see. We can both be looking at the same thing but we are seeing differently.

In the kingdom, what you see is what you get (Numbers 13:25-33). If you see obstacles, you would be stopped from making progress. If you see lack, you would always have less than enough. If you see defeat, you would also grapple with fear and failure (2 Kings 6:15-16). Your realities are determined by your revelation.

If you see possibilities, life will pave way for the fulfilment of your dreams. If you see a glorious year-end, you would definitely partake of it. Until you see well, you cannot get God to hasten His word to perform in your life (Jeremiah 1:11-12). This is why before God can help your life, He would first help your sight. It is what you see that God will hasten to perform.
