A young man came to invite me for a meeting sometime ago. When he was to introduce me to the podium, he made the following remarks about our church; “Aside all I have read about this man of God, when I visited their church, I immediately saw leadership. The atmosphere felt so organised, and the man of God was very human and approachable. I need that kind of leadership.”

Friend, everybody needs leadership because everything rises and falls on leadership (Matthew 9:35-37). Anytime I teach on the subject of leadership, I almost always want to scream it out that people should not overlook the place of leadership in every area of their lives. Be it in church, business, family, career, and what have you, leadership would determine the level of success your life will command.

Whereas ministry is the assignment God has given you to carry out for Him, leadership would determine how far you would carry it out (2 Peter 1:10). The difference between successful businesses and struggling ones, most times, is not the loftiness of the ideas. It is not even the capital ingested into the business. It is the leadership that is in place in such enterprises (Ecclesiastes 10:10, 15).

The difference between a blissful home and a problematic one is leadership (Ephesians 5:21-33). I do tell husbands; “Be anything you want to be to your wife; a lover, a provider, a handsome man, etc., if you are not a leader, your marriage will not work.” Women need leadership. No woman is difficult. No woman is useless. She only lacks the right leadership. Some of the outbursts of a seemingly problematic wife are a cry for the right leadership (1 Peter 3:6-7).

People are quick to spot a leader wherever they see one. As an employee in an organisation, once you begin to show leadership in your work and composure, it won’t be long before your boss will notice you (Daniel 6:3). This was why, despite being a slave, Joseph was put in charge of Potiphar’s estate. The same thing happened while he was in prison (Genesis 39:1-4, 20-24). A true leader cannot be hidden. Someone who exudes vision, capacity, attention to detail, responsibility, accountability, etc. will always be sought after, everywhere.

The difference between a tailor and a fashion designer is leadership. The difference between a gateman and a security personnel is leadership. The difference between a local pastor and a global pastor is not only anointing. It is also leadership. Rather than praying to God to change your levels in life, why not work on your leadership (Psalms 78:70-72). What prayer brings, leadership will sustain and multiply. Everybody needs leadership, including you! Does this help?
