Sometime ago, my daughter had to receive some injections. I watched as the syringe went through her buttocks. She kept shouting, “Daddy! Daddy!! Daddy!!!” I was so moved with emotion that I was contemplating “delivering” her from the process. But I reasoned that she needed that process to be fine health wise.
Friend, God’s love for you does not bypass divine process (Hebrews 12:6-7). You need to know how to enjoy God’s love while enduring His process. It is the process that sustains the blessing. It is the process that helps you manage the blessing. A blessed man who boycotts process will self-destruct (Hosea 7:8).
There are some things you would have to go through because of where you are going to (Hebrews 12:2). While it is good to focus on the future, you also need to pay attention to the process. Sometimes, the road to a bright future is paved with rough paths (Psalms 66:10-12). If you can endure the process, you would enjoy the product.
Our processes would be personal but not private. You would have comrades on the journey of destiny. Your stories would be peculiar to you but would be similar to that of others (James 5:10-11). Comrades on the journey of destiny are your encouragers (1 Peter 5:9). They make you know that what you are going through is not peculiar to you (1 Corinthians 10:13).
There is always a cup behind every throne (Matthew 20:20-23). Like the sons of Zebedee, people want the throne but don’t like the cup. They want the seat but not the suffering. The cup would not be sweet but it would be worth the throne. The glory is desirable but the suffering must be accepted (Luke 12:49-50).
What can you endure for what lies ahead of you? Jesus saw glory ahead, it toughened and strengthened Him to go through the cross (Hebrews 12:2). The cross was the price for the crown. Going down was the price for going up (Philippians 2:5-11). One way to make the process enjoyable is to have a positive attitude while going through it.
