I was raised into leadership right from my preteen years in high school. Our fellowship mentors would often charge us to pray for 5 hours whenever we were asked to lead a service slot of 5 minutes. They taught me never to joke with what others call little. This has helped me greatly today.
Friend, one of the marks of greatness is the ability to recognise value in small stuff. Really, it is the little stuff that make the huge difference in life. Have you noticed that most of the parables of Jesus glorified the least, the last and the lost (Matthew 13:31-32, Luke 13:30, 15:24)? The attitude of Jesus towards little stuff is instructive for us today.
When you see a man who despises little things, you are looking at a man who cannot handle big things. This is why God would often test us with what is little before He commits much into our hands (Luke 16:10). The difference between leaders and followers is their perception of smallness.
Followers see smallness as a problem, leaders see it as an opportunity to birth greatness; they see it as a means to an end. When you walk with God, you would realize that He recognises value in small things (Zechariah 4:10). Jesus emphasised that the Kingdom belongs to little children (Matthew 19:13-15).
Take ownership when you are faced with little stuff. Don’t despise it, rather take responsibility. Like Jesus with the loaves of bread and fishes, learn to give thanks and you would experience miracles of multiplications (John 6:11). Little stuff are huge opportunities for us to grow big.
Attitude is everything (Psalms 78:70-72). Little business can become big if you relate with it well. That little Church can become mega if you would face it with understanding and diligence. That little money in your hand can change your life forever if you learn to manage and multiply it. Actually, nothing is little; we only have people with little mentality. Start little, think big and grow big. You will succeed!
