The young man helped me to do some repairs. While the repair was going on, I opened up a conversation with him. Not too long, I began sharing the gospel. He asked, “Sir, are you a pastor?” It did not matter if I am. I have lighted a life beyond the pulpit or Church. This is Contagious Christianity.

Friend, the Kingdom of God thrives on the strength of soul winning. We have not been called to segregation but to penetration. If we are to function as the salt of the earth and light of the world, we must learn to maintain contact without contamination. We are to be separate, not separated (2 Corinthians 6:17, Hebrews 7:26). We must learn to use the platforms of our relationships and everyday life to influence people for God.

“You are the light of the world…” (Matthew 5:14). We have been called as the light of the world, not the light of the Church. The Church is a place where we are lighted but the world is the place where we shine the light. There are too many lights in the Church competing with each other whereas there are too much darkness in the world begging for the lights to shine. The darkness in the world is a reflection of our refusal to shine as lights (John 9:5).

“…My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work” (John 4:34). You must never be too busy to share the gospel. You will always have time for what you consider important. Sometimes, when I see the way marketers aggressively and convincingly market products for companies, I wonder why Christians cannot market the gospel like that. We must never think that salary is more important than eternal rewards (Matthew 6:19-21, Luke 15:7).

“Philip found Nathanael…” (John 1:45). One of the marks of growth and maturity is the desire to share the gospel. It is also the secret to growth. When I look at your readiness to share the gospel I can tell where you are in God as far as spiritual growth is concerned; you are not growing if you are not sharing the good news. Someone probably introduced Jesus to you, you owe it to God to introduce Him to others (Daniel 12:3).

While the pastor has his pulpit in Church on Sunday, every other believer (including the pastor) have their pulpits in the public all through the days of the week (Ephesians 4:11-12). If you maximize marketplace pulpits, you would stop struggling with your pastor to preach on Sunday. You would rather go to Church to be fed so you can feed others. God has already given you platforms at work, school, neighborhood, market etc. Use it to spread the gospel. Be a contagious Christian!
