Recently, I was watching the TV with my younger daughter. For a brief moment, I looked away from the TV to attend to something. Then an advert came up. I just heard her shout; “Daddy, take it away. She’s sagging, her breast is showing.” This was her response to a scantily dressed lady. They’ve been taught to identify error.

Friend, we must be intentional about our Christian life and development. If we leave things to chance we may never have a chance to change things. You can call the devil wicked or any name you want to call him. But don’t ever call him stupid. The devil is not stupid. In fact, he is smarter than many Christians today (Genesis 3:1, 2 Corinthians 2:11).

Let God engage you before the devil entangles you. There is no midway about it. It’s either God gets your time and attention or the devil would deceive, distract and eventually destroy you (John 10:10). Divine assignment is what delivers from satanic appointment.

Timothy’s parents were intentional about his faith development (2 Timothy 1:5). They were instrumental to what he became under God. They gave him a firm foundation. What about you? Who is mentoring you? Who is the standard of integrity that God has strategically placed around your life? Are you submitting to such authority structure (Hebrews 13:7)?

If you don’t have the privilege of coming from a sound home or family and you attend the wrong Church, you are cheating yourself greatly (Psalms 68:6, 1 Timothy 3:15). What we miss at home, God packages for us in a Church family. He places us under tutors, governors and coaches to instruct us in righteousness (Galatians 4:1-2, 2 Timothy 3:15-16).

If the foundation is destroyed, the righteous can trust the mercy and wisdom of God to rebuild another one (Psalms 11:3). It is not too late to make a U-turn from a wrong trajectory. Stop giving excuses of your upbringing for your lack of character. Take your destiny in your own hands. Cooperate with God to chart a new course of destiny (Daniel 1:8). Let God engage you so Satan won’t entangle you (Ephesians 4:27)
