When God told us to move to the city of Akure, we knew that contemplating obedience could be the bane of our following God’s plan for our lives. After going through the necessary processes, we moved. Weeks after we left, some people still called to ask if we are still in the city of Lagos. I simply told them; “We have moved.”

Friend, you cannot prosper beyond your level of obedience (Job 36:11). You are only an instruction away from your next level of greatness in God (John 2:5). For Isaac, he must not go down to Egypt but stay in Gerrar (Genesis 26:1-6). He must accept God’s choice of Gerrar for him and carry out every bit of divine instructions that are meant to unlock the best that the land offers.

Accepting God’s choice for us is one of the proofs of our trust in His wisdom and faithfulness. When we struggle with God’s will, we are unknowingly telling Him that we doubt His love for us and His Wisdom. God’s thoughts and plans for you are good (best) and not evil (Jeremiah 29:11). It may not look good at the moment but you can rest assured that this is where His best for you lies.

Learn to trust the Holy Spirit to do His work in you that would produce the willingness and obedience along the path of God’s plan for your life (Philippians 2:12-13). This is the mystery of divine choice. Sometimes you get to wonder why some people fall in love with a location, a line of ministry or career, a lady or guy that others despise. It is not they but the Holy Spirit at work.

When we allow the Holy Spirit to work in and through us, He helps us to put our emotions or feelings in check (Romans 8:4-11). This is where Jonah probably missed it. He allowed his emotion to get in the way of divine choice. He could have been real with God and leverage His workings so he could get to love God’s choice for him (Jonah 1:1-3, 4:1).

God’s best for you is tied to His chosen “land” for you. It can be a guy or a lady. It can be a geographical location. It can be a line of career, business or ministry. It can even be in a particular demand that God is making on your life. Once you know this, it would help you to come into a posture of willingness and obedience that will unlock the best of God for you in that land and your ultimate greatness.
