I had an experience recently, which I believed most people must have had at one time or the other. I plugged my phone into the socket. I needed to charge it. I was waiting, thinking it must have acquired some charge. After some time, I decided to pick it up only to discover the socket was not switched on. It was painful. But I learnt a lesson; stay connected.
Friend, are you connected? Life is made for connection (Ecclesiastes 4:9). Without the right connection, life loses its purpose and power. This is why you need to take care of your connection. You need to stay connected. Don’t just be floating through life. Don’t just be coasting along. Don’t hang around the wise without connecting to wisdom (Proverbs 13:20).
The first connection you need in life is the connection with God. It is favour with God that brings favour with men (Luke 2:52). It is peace with God that brings peace with men. The born-again man is described as the branch while Jesus is the vine. You cannot survive without a vital connection with Jesus (John 15:1-5). Stay connected.
You need to stay connected to the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:1-14). Salvation grants you access to the Holy Spirit, but your fellowship with Him is what determines your connection. Your Christian life cannot be better than your intimacy with the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 13:14). Whereas Jesus brought you into sonship, it is the Holy Spirit that brings you into the manifestation of sonship.
You need to be connected to the right church (Psalm 68:6). No baby grows healthily on the street; He needs to be brought home. There is something about the church atmosphere, pastoral ministry, and fellowship with the brethren that help you to stay strong and victorious. It is those who are planted in the house of God that would flourish out there (Psalm 92:13).
God will bring you in contact with critical relationships (Proverbs 27:17). But you need to connect. Don’t let ignorance or arrogance keep you from destiny relationships. Don’t let offences disconnect you from your tag team. Don’t be competing with those you should be learning from (Genesis 13:1-14). It is your connection that determines your collection. Stay connected.
