I was at an event recently where a young boy of age 6 was invited to perform. He’s acclaimed to be the youngest talent in Nigeria. He sat beside me. I noticed his coach or manager came with him. I witnessed firsthand how the coach had to guide him in all his responses, carriage, and the likes. I saw a sense of calmness and security around the young boy. Thanks to his coach.
Friend, you need a coach. Whereas coaches do not supply talents, they develop, strengthen, support, and sustain such talents (2 Timothy 1:6). Talent without the right coaching would not amount to much. In fact, without the right coach, you are not likely to recognise and realise your talents (Philemon 1:6).
Most gifted people do not recognise and welcome the need for coaching in their lives (1 Corinthians 4:18-19). This is why we don’t hear much about such people. Some who appear suddenly without the right coaches and coaching often disappear in no time. If you want to last, get a coach and submit to one.
When a football team is consistently losing, most times, they don’t sack the players. They sack the coach (Matthew 9:36). The truth is, with the right coach, a poorly performing team would turn around and perform excellently well. Coaches help you discover what talents, gifts, and abilities you have got. They also help structure your life so that those abilities can come alive. They hold you accountable (1 Timothy 4:12-16).
Coaches instil discipline and help put structures in and around your life (2 Timothy 2:1-7). This is where most people fail; the lack of structures. Without the right structures, your life would fall like a pack of cards. Structures provide support, strength, stability, and success. Lack of structure brings laziness and wastage (John 6:12-13).
You cannot outgrow coaching. The higher you arise, the more the need for coaching or mentoring (Proverbs 31:1-9). The farther you go, the more technical your life and endeavour become. You are also likely to be blinded by success and fame. The right coach helps you to spot and fill gaps in your life (SoS 2:15). Get a coach today.
