As a leader in my campus fellowship, I lived in the secretariat. There was an uncompleted building beside it, which we called “Mount Secretariat.” We used those rooms for prayer. Morning and night, you would hear voices travailing. Looking back, I see we were investing. Much of what we enjoy today is the harvest of that mountain life.
Friend, there is something about the prayer mountain (Habakkuk 2:1). Christianity is a mountaintop life, not a valley life. Christians who don’t pray live below God’s plan. They become victims of disappointment, depression and defeat (Joel 3:14). If you want to live above, learn to dwell on the mountain.
Your dwelling determines your doing (Psalm 23:6). Your dwelling actually empowers your doing. You can’t do well if you don’t dwell in God through prayer. Your sentence must come from His presence (Psalm 17:2). Don’t start your day casually. Let prayer herald your day and announce your season.
Prayer investments are future investments. You may not see results now, but you will meet them in your future (Luke 1:80). In those days, others may think we were wasting time. Today, the difference is clear. We are living in the dividends of those years (Galatians 6:7-9). Prayer never expires.
What are you doing today to secure your future in God (Jeremiah 29:11-12)? A bright future does not guarantee arrival. Prophecies don’t fulfil themselves. We don’t just write prophecies; we war with them (1 Timothy 1:18). The future belongs to those who prepare for it in prayer today, not tomorrow.
Be a mountain climber. Stay where prayer is culture. Walk with people who value the closet (Acts 3:1). Those years, hearing others pray stirred me even when I felt weak. That discipline followed me beyond campus (Daniel 6:10). When I see your priority on prayer, I can predict your end.
