THE INHERITANCE OF SONS

A young banker spent 7 years as a Personal Assistant to a billionaire CEO. He was never paid much, but he learned how his boss thinks, negotiates, and makes decisions. Today, he runs his own thriving company using the same principles. He left with inheritance, not just salary. The same is true for kingdom service.

Friend, kingdom service is not primarily for money. The least you get for serving God is material reward. God reserves inheritance for true sons and servants (Colossians 3:23-24). Inheritance is greater than money because it produces money. If you chase money, you will lose inheritance and forfeit your future.

Abraham gave all he had to Isaac but only gave gifts to the sons of his concubines (Genesis 25:5-6). All that he had was not cash or cattle, but covenant. It was the promise, the grace, and the commitment of God upon his life. That is what a father passes to a son.

God rewards sons with inheritance, not just income. The prodigal son took his material portion and wasted it, but the elder brother still owned all that the father had (Luke 15:31). If you stay focused on following God, you will soon be better than those who flaunt things today.

If you work anywhere, do not work only for salary. Work for inheritance (Colossians 3:22-25). Salary alone will never be enough because no man can pay you what you are truly worth. Like Jacob, covenant people cannot be cheated. Even if your wages change ten times, your destiny of greatness cannot (Genesis 31:41-42).

Whether you teach in a school, serve in a church, or work under a boss, focus on the right things (2 Kings 5:20-27). When you eventually leave, ensure you leave with wisdom, experience, and goodwill. Like Elisha, leave with the grace that was upon your leader (2 Kings 2:9-15). If you cannot reproduce the grace you once served under, then you wasted those years.
