A man of God shared about preaching the gospel in a particular location as a bi-vocational minister. The power of God was so evident that some full-time ministers asked, “How did you get to walk in this dimension of power, that we don’t walk in, despite your being bi-vocational?” He simply emphasized the need to build spiritual structures.

Friend, you need to build spiritual structures (Hebrews 10:5-7). The truth is, nothing divine or eternal will manifest in your life unless you build structures to contain and sustain it. The problem with most people isn’t a lack of desire for growth and spiritual activities, but a lack of the right structures (1 Timothy 4:12-16).

What spiritual structures are you building for your life and destiny (Acts 6:4)? A Christianity without structure is powerless. Jesus had a prayer and study structure (Mark 1:35). The apostles had their structures. The early church was structured, which sustained the power and move of God in their lives (Acts 2:41-47).

A life without structure lacks direction and progress (Luke 21:37-38). Structures provide strength and ensure sustainability. It also secures divine commitment. It’s better to have structured prayer rather than just waiting to be led by the Holy Spirit before you pray. Structures make the Holy Spirit’s guidance easier (Acts 8:29).

Learn to build the right structures to accommodate your changing season (Mark 6:31). No matter how busy you are, you can structure your spiritual life for a regular and consistent schedule of prayer, study, and kingdom service. This was the secret of Daniel and Joseph. Structures make you relevant to heaven while succeeding on earth (Daniel 1:20).

An advantage of bi-vocational ministry is structured living (Acts 18:1-4). Knowing you don’t have all the time makes you maximize the time you have. Part-time (bi-vocational) ministry also helps your organization, sense of timing, excellence, and work ethic. A full-time minister without these would not succeed in ministry (1 Corinthians 15:10).
